Undergraduate Student Instructor, DATA 6: Introduction to Computational Thinking with Data Science and Society (Summer 2025)

Responsibilities:

• Taught weekly discussion sections and held office hours to support incoming first-year SEED Scholars—students from historically underrepresented backgrounds in STEM—during the six-week Summer Rising bridge program
• Reinforced students’ understanding of Python programming, foundational data science principles, and the broader societal implications of computing through interactive instruction and personalized feedback
• Collaborated closely with SEED program staff and instructional faculty to coordinate course logistics and align teaching with the program’s community-building and academic goals
• Graded assignments and exams with attention to individual growth and equitable assessment practices
• Managed Ed Discussion Q&A and responded to student emails to ensure accessible, timely academic support
• Helped foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment, promoting curiosity, confidence, and connection as students transitioned into university-level coursework
